Cheese Making Class and Our Summer Schedule

We are very excited to announce our summer class line-up today. Some details are still being worked out for the later sessions but they're too good not to tell everyone about now!

The highlight of today's blog is our upcoming cheese class on Thursday June 30 from 6:30-8 pm.

We have the privilege of hosting Claudia Lucero, (one of our egg customers!) author of One Hour Cheese and owner/operator of Urban Cheesecraft teaching a Cheeses for Beginners course! Alongside this will be wine tasting with our friends at Forest Edge Vineyard. Basically a night of sheer joy.

We will be hosting it on our farm. Adults only, $50 per person covers class along with cheese and wine tasting. Goodies will be available for purchase directly from the vendors as well. Full description will be available on the website beginning in May. Limited spaces available so reserve your spot with full payment by June 20th. Send check or cash directly to the farm.

Saturday July 16th and September 17th from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm we will be offering our Permaculture Foundations class again. Read the full description and sign up through the website

August is terribly exciting as well! We have four of our favorite farmers teaching two classes (each on a Saturday) that you'll definitely want to take!

Scott and Amanda from Ravenna Farms will be teaching a poultry class covering both chickens and water fowl. Basics of raising, feeding, housing, DIY vet care, and breeding. They are really excellent livestock stewards so this class will benefit both the uninitiated and slightly more experienced bird keeper. Date and price to be announced on the website in early May.

Nicholas and Julia from Dandelion Dreams Permaculture will be teaching a class on raising rabbits including a butchering demonstration. Rumor has it there might be rabbit meat to take home! These guys are widely versed in a number of livestock and I'm so excited to take this class myself! Date and price to be announced in early may on the website

We have quite the busy summer! I hope many of you will join us as we endeavor to expand our class offerings this year. Please let us know if there is anything you'd like to see taught in the future or if there is a class you might want to teach yourself.

Cheers!
